Speak up for nature
We need to turn things around for nature and climate through strong and bold leadership from our political representatives. Councils have an enormous impact in your local community and could act to put local nature in recovery.
With almost 90,000 houses allocated to be built here in Nottinghamshire by 2038, decisions taken by local councils can dramatically impact our local environment. As well as deciding what will be built and where, they also decide how existing greenspaces are managed and whether to create more space for nature.
This is why we are calling on councils across the county to recognise the nature emergency, alongside the climate emergency, to invest in nature’s recovery, commit to creating more space for nature and ensuring fairer access to nature for all.
