About the reserve

This wetland reserve consists of newly created reed beds and ponds on the River Erewash, It's part of a larger area managed area, much of which is over the river and managed by Derbyshire Wildlife Trust as their Erewash Meadows Nature Reserve

Aldercar is an important site for breeding and wintering wildfowl and wading birds.  To avoid disturbance please view from the public footpath
