Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust has today welcomed the support of CEMEX UK for the charity’s 2018 Wildlife on your Doorstep Awards which seek to recognise local action to promote and protect wildlife and wildlife habitats.

As a result of the support, the Wildlife Trust will operate the awards the length and breadth of Nottinghamshire, with nominations being sought in all districts and boroughs with the support of the charity’s network of Local Members’ Groups.

Last year’s winners included the 1^st Woodthorpe Guides Wildlife Watch Group, Gotham Sand Banks Nature Reserve Trust and Creswell Crags.The Wildlife Trust is currently seeking nominations for individuals, groups, schools and businesses which are making an effort in the local community to protect or promote wildlife.

In recognition of the company’s continued support, CEMEX UK joins Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s 2018 list of “Wildlife Guardians” - companies that support the work of the Trust by helping to fund its conservation work and education and outreach programme.   Upon presenting the company with their Wildlife Guardian corporate supporter certificate, Erin McDaid, the Trust’s Head of Communications said:

As a local charity founded on the back of local action we believe that it is vital to recognise the efforts of individuals, groups, businesses and schools that are taking steps in their local community to promote and protect wildlife. The support of CEMEX UK means that we can roll out the Wildlife on your Doorstep programme once again across the county.

To submit a nomination, simply send a couple of paragraphs about the person or project to Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust.  Nominations should be sent to communications@nottswt.co.uk   Alternatively nominations can be posted to Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, The Old Ragged School, Brook Street, Nottingham. The deadline for nominations is Monday March 5^th 2018.
