Attenborough cafe takeaway open
Almost three weeks since re-opening the car park at Attenborough Nature Reserve, Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust has reopened the café at its popular nature centre offering a new take away only service.
The cafe is now serving a range of hot and cold drinks, cakes, hot pies & sausage rolls and ice creams – all to take away.
Speaking about the re-opening Catering Team Leader James Jaques said: “The value of green spaces such as Attenborough to people’s wellbeing has been very apparent during this difficult time. All our reserves across the county remained open to provide people will opportunities to exercise and connect with nature but the centre has been closed since March 22nd. Now, with the phased removal of restrictions we feel the time is right to re-open a limited takeaway service. Our number one priority is the safety of our fantastic customers and staff; so we have implemented strict safety measures throughout the centre.”
A number of staff who were furloughed to offset the charity’s loss of income from the centre during lockdown have been brought back to offer a safe and warm welcome to visitors. The team has implemented a range of measures to help keep customers and colleagues safe including a one in one out system, limits on the numbers in the café and a supervised queuing system and the installation of safety screens and the provision of hand sanitizer.
James added:
We have really missed our customers and are delighted to be able to welcome them back to enjoy their favourite drink or a delicious cake whilst relaxing on the nature reserve.Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust Trading Ltd
