Seasonal highlights include water birds in winter.About the reserve
The lake at this reserve was created from the former workings of gravel extraction. A range of important habitats, once common in this part of the Trent Valley, have now been restored. As they establish, the rare wet grassland, reedbeds, and shallows should attract a large number of important wading bird species.
