About the event
Green Sketching is an art movement that is helping to make the incredible benefits of sketching nature (which include mental wellbeing, nature connection, improved memory, focus and observation) accessible to all ages and abilities and we are delighted to bring this new opportunity to Attenborough Nature Reserve.
The two hour session will enable you to immerse yourself in the beautiful surroundings of the reserve alongside learning skills and techniques you can use over and over in your own time to benefit from slowing down in nature and observing it’s beauty.
During the session you will be guided through a wide range of observation techniques exploring a range of materials. All specialist materials are provided and you will be given a mini sketchbook to take home and continue your green sketching journey.
Attendees do not need to bring anything with them but should come prepared for an outdoor environment. Please ensure you have appropriate sturdy outdoor footwear, warm / waterproof clothing as you maybe sat or standing at times, if you wish to bring a small folding chair or stool you are welcome, please be aware you will need to carry this during the event and please feel comfortable walking on uneven surfaces.
