Wetlands for Wildlife in Nottinghamshire
Thank you! You've helped us raise more than £45,000 to protect Nottinghamshire's vital wetlands
A huge thank you to everyone who donated to our 'Wetlands for Wildlife' appeal and our Big Give match funded campaign. You helped to raise over £45,000 for Wetlands in Nottinghamshire!
Your generous donations will help to protect Nottinghamshire's wetlands as we start work on them this winter.
This appeal may be over, but if you'd like to donate to protect wildlife and wild places across the county, you can do so at our donate page or using the box below.
Support the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust
With your generous donations, we will continue to transform our wetlands into sanctuaries for spectacular resident and visiting wildlife.
Your generosity has helped us to give wetland wildlife a home at Idle Valley, Attenborough, Besthorpe and Skylarks Nature Reserves. Habitats for wildlife will be improved by:
- removing encroaching willow scrub to create vital open areas for ground nesting birds.
- managing reedbeds to help species including harvest mice, otters and bitterns.
- removing scrub from wet grassland to improve habitat for declining species including lapwing, snipe and redshank.
- ensuring our Longhorn & Lincoln Red cattle can continue to eat and trample saplings
- helping our beavers at Idle Valley Nature Reserve to control scrub 24/7
- ensure our volunteers have the tools they need and enable us to engage contractors to clear large areas of scrub
With your support we have created some of the most important wetlands in Nottinghamshire. Together we will ensure these vital sites help secure the future of cherished species.
