Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s popular series of celebrity lectures, which raise funds for its county-wide conservation programmes, returns with a bang this autumn.
Join Matt Baker at Nottingham’s Albert Hall as he draws on his wealth of experience both on and off the screen to talk all things nature, countryside and sustainability.
The event, ‘An evening with Matt Baker’, will take place at the Nottingham’s Albert Hall on Thursday 9th November 2023.
Matt is a much-loved face on British TV, who has become hugely popular with the public, presenting shows such as BBC1’s The One Show, Blue Peter and Countryfile, raising awareness about how the power and beauty of the countryside can be an inspiration and source of joy for us all.
His book - A Year on Our farm: How the Countryside Made Me - is a Sunday Times best seller which, alongside his own productions for C4 - Our Farm in The Dales, follows Matt’s life on his beloved family farm as he celebrates the natural year. His most recent production, Travels in the Country USA, screened on More4 earlier this year (2023).
Matt was awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours List 2022 for charitable and voluntary services to fundraising; most notably as a Trustee of BBC Children In Need and his now legendary 12 consecutive years of Rickshaw Challenge rides.
Away from the bright lights of hosting our favourite television programmes, he is often in the company of his family, dogs, array of sheep, Mediterranean miniature donkeys and a whole host of wildlife in the farm’s ancient woodland.
